Meditation Sessions
Let’s create a neighborhood Sangha! As we practice our meditation, I may lead, but others are invited to lead in their own meditation style if they feel drawn. My meditation practice is informed by mindfulness-based meditation and HeartMath techniques (Certified as a HeartMath biofeedback coach)
While sessions are no charge, I do encourage donations to Friends of Sligo Creek to support the nature around us in a reciprocal fashion.
Limited space available so please preregister in advance. Arrival by biking or walking preferred but there is limited parking if needed! Park to left side of garage first and close to other cars to make extra room. You may park up the hill next to the treehouse next door if necessary but avoid blocking the driveway or neighbor’s cars.
Yoga Sessions:
I offer a deeply rooted, integrated approach to yoga and meditation informed by over 30 years of practice and a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher training program completed in 2020. Yoga styles I teach include a blend of hatha, pranayama and asana flow. The classes tend to be gentle yet invite challenge at your own pace and level. I always encourage my students to listen and connect with their own body, practicing in a supportive environment with a focus on their own mat.
In my classes, nature is both a setting and an inspiration. Whether practicing under the trees on the deck of grounded on the clay tile floor in the studio, we will draw from the natural world around us to deepen awareness of our own inner landscape. Imagery, breathwork, and direct connection to the surrounding natural world will help us connect to the five elements: water, wood, fire and earth. We will explore how water shows up in stillness and flow, wood in growth and flexibility, fire in warmth and connection, earth in our stability and grounding, and metal in clarity and breath. In addition, my practice is informed by years of Ob Gyn practice in the incorporation of the pelvic floor and its relationship to the breath, posture and vitality.
Held in an intimate, small group setting, these classes offer a quiet supportive space to reconnect - with yourself, with nature and with a like-hearted community.
I invite you to join in practicing presence on the mat!
